Felice Herrig to make pro boxing debut in July

Former UFC fighter Felice Herrig is making her return to competition after announcing her retirement from professional mixed martial arts following a loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz in June 2022.

“Lil’ Bulldog” Herrig, 38, will compete in her first pro boxing bout on July 22 when she takes on Veronika Dmitriyeva. The fight will serve as the co-main event for the International Boxing “It’s Not Me” card at the Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

“I’m finally making my long-awaited boxing debut,” Herrig’s social media post read. “Although I am set to Fight for @gamebredboxingpromotions as well I wanted to fight sooner and continue to get as much experience as I can. * especially after being out so long with my knee injury *
I’m thankful for my coach Shannon for setting this up, for Skylar for making it happen and my opponent for accepting.

“I’m taking it back old school where it all began. Small local shows, getting my feet wet. Trying to climb the boxing ranks.

“This fight won’t be televised so if you want in in the action better come watch me live. * ALL the details are in the poster *
My boxing gym O.N.E Fitness Center has all my tickets. Please get in touch with them …. Unless you’re in my contacts. The. You can message me direct.”

Shortly after Herrig retired from MMA following her fourth consecutive loss, it was announced that she would take off the gloves and compete with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, but that bout has not yet happened.

Herrig left MMA with a professional record of 14-10.  She was part of the Ultimate Fighter season 20 which first introduced female strawweights to the UFC.  Prior to that, Herrig was a standout kickboxer and Muay Thai practitioner, and also fought for Invicta Fighting Championships.
