Felice Herrig to return after lengthy layoff, meets Karolina Kowalkiewicz in rematch
Felice Herrig (14-9) will return to the UFC octagon for the first since August 2020 when she meets former UFC strawweight title contender Karolina Kowalkiewicz (12-7) in a rematch at UFC Vegas 56 on June 4.
The two women met for the first time in April 2018 with Kowalkiewicz taking the nod by way of split decision. The loss was the first of three straight for Herrig who has not had her hand raised since December 2017 when she defeated Cortney Casey.
Herrig, who has been battling knee injuries which required surgery, first arrived in the UFC on the set of the Ultimate Fighter season 20 in 2014.
Kowalkiewicz is also in desperate need of a win, having dropped five consecutive bouts. The last win that the Polish fighter record was the split decision victory over Herrig four years ago.
