Five Best UFC Knockouts – May 2022

Everyone loves knockouts, and in May 2022, there were some fantastic ones. One of them might be the winner for ‘knockout of the year’, and we’re only halfway through the calendar.

Here are the best UFC knockouts of May 2022. (They aren’t in any particular order except number 1. Obviously)

Michael Chandler vs. Tony Ferguson

I mean, this has to start the list and, as I said, will probably be on top of a lot of lists come December. At UFC 274, Michael Chandler landed a devastating front kick that put Tony Ferguson‘s lights out. It was the first time that Ferguson had been knocked out, and it was scary as he was out for a little while. Chandler was awarded $50,000 for his efforts.

Andre Fialho vs. Cameron VanCamp

On the same card as the Chandler front kick KO, Andre Fialho knocked out Cameron VanCamp in the first round and only needed less than three minutes to do so. The fighter from Portugal hit VanCamp with a left hook, and that was enough. Well, he tried for a second shot but thankfully missed. The knockout came just three weeks after knocking out Miguel Baeza.
After his knockout at UFC 274, Fialho asked to be on the UFC 275 card in Singapore alongside his training partners – he got his wish.

Michael Johnson vs. Alan Patrick

Michael Johnson shut everyone up with his back firmly against the wall and everyone doubting him by putting Alan Patrick’s lights out. A four-punch combo did the trick with a couple of follow-up shots. The win snapped Johnson’s four-fight losing streak and reminded everyone just how dangerous “The Menace” is.

Davey Grant vs. Louis Smolka

The fight between Davey Grant and Louis Smolka lived up to the hype, and it was robbed of ‘Fight of the Night.’ In the third round, Smolka ended up on the ground after a lazy shot, and he paid for it. Grant landed some bombs on the ground, and it put Smolka out cold. The win snapped Grant’s two-fight losing streak and put him back in the win column.

Chidi Njokuani vs. Dusko Todorovic

The last knockout is actually the most recent. At UFC Vegas 55, Chidi Njokuani knocked out Dusko Todorovic with a disgusting ‘hellbow’ in the first round. Todorovic tried to clinch with the 33-year-old and paid for it. That is Njokuani’s second straight first-round knockout in the UFC, and he has picked up two Performance of the Night bonuses as well.
