On paper Florina Moeller does not fit the description of typical cage fighting mixed martial artist.
Aside from having a pretty face and the nickname “Cuddles”, Moeller holds down a full time job as a computer programmer.
But do not let any of that fool you because this Saturday, November 18, Moeller steps inside the cage to compete in her seventh amateur MMA fight.
Moeller meets Lauren Anthony at Shamrock FC 298 at the Ameristar Hotel and Casino in Kansas City, Missouri.
The 33-year old, born on Friday the 13th, moved here from Transylvania in central Romania when she was 20-years old. She made the move to the United States with her then husband.
Now on her own, Moeller, who has had a love for MMA competition nearly her whole life, trains out of GLORY MMA and Fitness with James Krause and Zak Cummings in Kansas City.
Having competed at both flyweight and bantamweight, Moeller feels more comfortable at 125-pounds, exactly where this weekend’s fight will be contested.
With a record of 4-2 as ammy, Moeller feels she still needs one or two more bouts under her belt before making the transition to the professional fight scene.
Tune in below as Florina Moeller talks about what brought her here to the U.S., choice of career path, and the difficulty in dealing with fight cancellations.
