Former UFC fighter Felipe Colares dead after being hit by bus in Brazil

Former UFC fighter Felipe Colares died today (Monday) after being hit by a bus in Brazil.

Corales, 29, was hit in Guaratiba and his death was later confirmed by his coach Rodrigo Babi who said his fighter was returning home after a training session.

First responders got to the scene and began working on Corales, but he reportedly died while in transport to the hospital.

Nicknamed “Cabocão,” Colares held a professional mixed martial arts record of 11-4 and competed inside the UFC octagon six times, going 2-4.

Corales defeated Domingo Pilarte at UFC on ESPN 4 in 2019, and his other win came against Luke Sanders at UFC on ESPN 23. After falling to Chris Gutierrez and Chase Hooper in 2021 and 2022, Corales ended up joining Ares Fighting Championship. There he recorded a first-round submission win over Alioune Nahaye in February.

He leaves behind his wife and a 10-month-old son.
