Former WWE champion Jake Hager makes MMA return at Bellator 250
Jake Hager is making his return to the Bellator cage.
The former WWE champion and current AEW star is making his MMA return after a 12-month hiatus at Bellator 250 on Oct. 29. First reported by MMA Junkie, Hager is set to face fellow unbeaten heavyweight Brandon Calton inside the Mohegun Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Hager is coming off a no contest against Anthony Garrett at Bellator 231 in October 2019. The 38-year-old landed multiple unintentional knees to the groin of Garrett, forcing referee Dan Miragliotta to call the fight.
Jake Hager is unbeaten at 2-0, earning two-straight arm-triangle choke victories against TJ Jones and JW Kiser in 2019.
Like Hager, Calton is also undefeated in two professional appearances after making his debut this past June. It’s a classic striker against grappler since both of Carlton’s wins come by TKO.
He most recently finished Larry Greene via second-round TKO at Showcase MMA 13 this past August. In his professional debut, the 40-year-old knocked out Cownay Beaudry in 14 seconds at Showcase MMA 12 on June 20.
The Bellator main card will be broadcasted on CBS Sports Network.
