Frank Camacho ready to unveil version ‘3.0’ to Beneil Dariush at UFC Singapore
Frank Camacho discusses his opportunity to make it two consecutive victories this weekend at UFC on ESPN+ 20.
“The Crank” will take on Beneil Dariush this Saturday at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. UFC on ESPN+ 20 will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Ben Askren and Demian Maia.
Camacho discusses how well the camp has gone, the benefits of training at Team Oyama with a lot of active UFC fighters and hungry prospects, his recent win over Nick Hein in the first fight of his new contract with the UFC, working with Make-A-Wish to make 11-year-old Kaleb Cruz’s dream come true (read the full, incredible story via Nolan King of MMA Junkie here), his reaction to getting a perennial contender in Dariush for this card, going back to Singapore — the place where he made his UFC debut — and why it has a special place in his heart, why Dariush is a dangerous opponent and where a victory will take him in the loaded lightweight division and much more.
The 30-year-old Camacho also talks about making the quick jump from Frank Camacho 2.0 — which was shown in his last fight — to version 3.0 this Saturday in Singapore.
“It’s a huge opportunity for me to introduce Frank Camacho 3.0 because my last fight was [Frank Camacho] 2.0,” Camacho told MyMMANews.com.
“I’m excited to see 3.0. The last fight camp, I was able to really dial things in. Now, coming into this camp, it’s really just trusting the process even more and trusting my coaches even more. It’s just trusting the process, doing what I need to do more and go out there and just let it rip. I give a lot of credit to my coaches that I didn’t go ‘Crank Mode’ in my last fight. If you watch my last fight and you listen to my corner, they were saying different things that would remind me not to do it, as opposed to just saying not to do it. They would say things like ‘stay behind the jab’, and it would remind me that I don’t need to throw this overhand right and left hook. I can just stick to the game plan and just listen, man. I’m super stoked.”
