UFC Stockholm Results – Alexander Gustafsson vs. Anthony Smith

Former light heavyweight title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Smith tangled in the main event of UFC Stockholm on Saturday. The fight card took place at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden and aired on ESPN+.  You can get a free 7-day trial of ESPN+ here.

Both Gustafsson and Smith were coming off recent losses to current light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones.

The Sweded, Gustafsson, would be submitted in front of his hometown crowd and eventually announce that his time competing in the sport has come to a close.

“I just want to thank you all for coming out tonight and supporting all of the fighters here,” Gustafsson said. “Every time the UFC comes back it’s a highlight, every time it’s amazing to be here and to compete in front of you and hear all the cheers.

“And what can I say? The show is over, guys.”

Volkan Oezdemir weighed in at 205-pounds so that he could receive his show money but unfortunately two days, opponent Ilir Latifi, had to be removed from the card due to injury.
