#FreeFightFriday – Watch Joe Pyfer submit Lorenzo Hunt in the first round

Watch Joe Pyfer vs. Lorenzo Hunt in the video above

Before Joe Pyfer was one of the UFC’s biggest prospects and Lorenzo Hunt was arguably Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s most-feared champion, the two men once met on the regional mixed martial arts scene.

Almost four and a half years ago, on October 5, 2018, “BodyBagz” Pyfer and “The Juggernaut” Hunt competed at Art of War Cage Fighting 8, headlining the event.

Few punches were thrown in this one.  After a brief tussle for dominance on the feet, Pyfer got the fight to the ground and looked to work in a submission.  It wasn’t long before referee Bill Bookwalter called an end to the action and Pyfer moved to 3-0 as a pro.

Now at 10-2, and earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, Pyfer is 1-0 in the UFC.  Pyfer is also a 2022 inductee into the Art of War Cage Fighting Hall of Fame.

Hunt has his next bare-knuckle fight scheduled at BKFC returns to Albuquerque, New Mexico with KnuckleMania 3 on Friday, February 17 at the Tingley Coliseum headlined by the highly anticipated BKFC Light Heavyweight World Championship Unification between ‘Double Champ’ Hunt, (8-1-0, 7 KOs) and BKFC Interim Light Heavyweight Champion Mike ‘The Marine’ Richman, (4-0-0, 4 KOs), of Rosemount, Minnesota.

Ranked #2 Pound-for-Pound in BKFC and also holder of the BKFC Cruiserweight World Title, Hunt, known for his world class skills in the ring and polarizing actions outside, has won seven consecutive fights. Most recently he stopped top challenger Quentin Henry in the third round on October 1, 2022 at BKFC-30. He also holds dominant victories over Joe Riggs (BKFC-24), Hector Lombard (BKFC-22), Josh Dyer (BKFC-17), Rob Morrow (KnuckleMania 1), Davian Green (BKFC-14), Erick Lozano (BKFC-12) and Reggie Pena (BKFC-8).

A former Bellator MMA standout, Richman has impressed quickly and often in BKFC with his ultra-aggressive style leading to a perfect record of four knockout victories. He earned the BKFC Interim Light Heavyweight Title with a third-round stoppage of previously undefeated Isaac Doolittle at BKFC-31 on October 15, 2022. The hard-hitting Richman has also scored early knockout wins over David Rickels (BKFC-23), Dakota Cochrane (BKFC-21 and Marcel Stamps (BKFC-17).

Yesterday at the BKFC KnuckleMania 3 press conference, Hunt and Richman got into an altercation. Check it out below.
