Gable Steveson to face toughest opponent yet

Gable Steveson, the Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling and one of the most decorated collegiate wrestlers in U.S. history, has an opponent for his third professional mixed martial arts bout.

The 25-year-old heavyweight prospect will test his skills against his most experienced opponent to date in MMA when he faces off with Hugo Lezama at Mexico Fight League in Monterrey, Mexico, on Feb. 19, the promotion announced Sunday.

Lezame holds a pro record of 11-3 and began competing in MMA in 2014 compared to Steveson’s perfect 2-0 record which began in 2025.
