The Florida Highway Patrol said at 10:45 p.m., a 33-year-old Tampa man was driving on the Gandy Bridge toward Hillsborough County at a “very high speed.”
That man was Geane Herrera, killed just days before his 34th birthday on May 27.

Herrera crashed into the back of a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
After the first impact, the motorcyclist then crashed into a concrete barrier before getting knocked back into the road, tumbling for several hundred feet before the motorcycle caught on fire.
The Jeep driver, who stopped at the scene after the collision, was not injured.
Herrera first fought in the UFC in 2015, a loss to Ray Borg. He then defeated Joby Sanchez, before dropping two more bouts with the promotion. He later split his record in BKFC with a win over Abdiel Velazquez, and a loss to Reggie Barnett Jr.
