Anticipation building in Bahrain for MMA pioneer Gesias Cavalcante’s Brave debut
Lightweight Gesias Cavalcante will be making his Brave Combat Federation debut at the promotion’s biggest-ever show, Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions, on November 17, in Bahrain. And the country already has JZ-fever. As soon as Cavalcante’s bout with former UFC fighter Alan Omer was announced, sports fans from Bahrain have been desperate to see the MMA pioneer in action.
Ahmed AlWazzan, owner of Team Red Wolf MMA, an associate of KHK MMA, is one of the sport’s fans who is keen on watching Gesias in action for the first time in the Middle East and has used social media to reach out the Lightweight fighter and let him know that the Bahrain crowd will be on his side at the Khalifa Sports City Arena.
“I can’t believe that Gesias Cavalcante is coming to Bahrain to fight at Brave! His opponent will get hurt! This is JZ! For me, you are the true main event of Brave 9. Show them all who is the real Spartan, Gesias”, read the message sent to “JZ” by AlWazzan.
With a legendary fighting career that saw him win world titles in USA and Japan, while fighting for several top promotions throughout the world, such as Shooto, Hero’s, Strikeforce, Dream, WSOF and Titan FC, Gesias Cavalcante brings to Brave an MMA record of 21 wins, 10 losses, one draw and 2 No Contests. He will face UFC veteran Alan Omer, who has 20 victories and five defeats in his MMA career and beat Robbie Peralta in his promotional debut.
Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions marks the promotion’s return to Bahrain after a year. During 2017, the organization has put on groundbreaking events in countries such as Brazil (twice), Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Kazakhstan. Brave 9 will be the culmination of the International Combat Week, alongside the IMMAF World Championships, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
