Glory Watson returns to the NEF cage in Bangor, Maine

New England Fights (“NEF”) returns to Bangor, Maine on Friday, September 9, 2022, with its next mixed-martial-arts (“MMA”) event “NEF 49: Queen City Showdown.” It will be NEF’s first event in Bangor in more than three years. Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a women’s professional flyweight bout to the card. Glory “The Fury” Watson (3-1) will take on Gabriella “GDaddy” Gulfin (5-4) at a fight weight of 125 pounds.

Glory Watson will compete for the first time as a professional in her hometown on September 9. Her last fight in Bangor was in February 2019 and was an amateur victory over Rachael Lippert (6-5) via third-round submission. The fight with Gulfin will also see Watson return to the flyweight division after having competed in the 115-pound strawweight ranks since September 2019. She is currently riding a three-fight win streak with her most recent win coming over Natalie Schlesinger last May at “NEF 47.” Watson represents Young’s MMA based in nearby Orrington, Maine.

“Fight Night is fast approaching and I’m more ready than ever,” exclaimed Watson. “This camp has been the most unique camp I have ever had! Coach Christopher Young has been evolving my game starting day one at the gym. In this camp, I have grown more than ever! Since my last fight I haven’t switched strength and conditioning coaches, trained with some of the best in the state and endlessly worked on my mental health! September 9th is going to be a fun night fighting close to home! I am wishing my opponent the best of skill and health in the upcoming weeks!”

Gabriella Gulfin will make the trip from New York City to face Glory Watson on September 9. Gulfin is no stranger to the New England MMA scene, having been a regular on cards in Massachusetts and Connecticut since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic. She competed on the Bellator 262 card last summer at Mohegan Sun. Last month, Gulfin submitted Hilarie Rose (6-5) in the first round on a card in Massachusetts. She currently represents Class One MMA based in Brooklyn, New York.

“NEF 49: Queen City Showdown” is set for Saturday, September 9 and will be the organization’s long-awaited return to Bangor, Maine. For more information, go to NewEnglandFights.com.
