Dana White’s Contender Series rolls on tonight with the shows sixth season as tonight’s episode marks the eighth of the season.
So far to date, 20 fighters on this season have earned a contract, including five on last week’s episode.
In tonight’s episode, welterweights Yusaku Kinoshita and Jose Henrique will meet in the feature bout of the evening.
Kinoshita comes into the fight with a 5-1 record, with each of his victories coming by way of first-round stoppage and his only loss is a result of disqualification for grabbing the cage. The 22-year-old prospect out of Japan has won fights by way of rear-naked choke, punches, a front choke, and a knee strike.
Henrique will enter the fight with a big size advantage as he enters the octagon at six-foot-three. The Brazilian has mostly fought at middleweight in his career and is a perfect 5-0 in his career. Most recently, he picked up a split decision win over Pedro Oliveira at LFA 132 in May.
In the co-main event, Sedriques Dumas and Matej Penaz square off in a clash of undefeated middleweights.
Dumas is 6-0 in his career and is coming off back-to-back wins in UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal’s iKON FC promotion. While five of his six fights have ended inside the distance, he has over 15 minutes of fight time in his career.
Penaz is a muay thai fighter and a kickboxer who turned pro in MMA in 2020. Since turning pro, Penaz has had no problems piling up wins as he’s also 6-0 in his career.
Another fight to watch out on the card is Alex Morgan vs. Blake Bilder. Morgan is a long time teammate Georges St. Pierre and continues to train out of Tristar Gym. Meanwhile, Bilder is a champion in CFFC.
