Gov. Ron DeSantis hosting VIP event with Jorge Masvidal tonight in Miami
Despite recent legal issues, former UFC welterweight title contender Jorge Masvidal will be part of a VIP experience tonight in Miami, part of event hosted by Florida’s Governor, Ron DeSantis.
In an email blasted out to those who registered for the event, DeSantis’ campaign advertised a special “DeSantis x Masvidal VIP Experience” for early arrivals who contribute $250 to his re-election bid.
In exchange for the optional campaign contribution, DeSantis’ team said each guest will receive VIP entrance, early admission, two drink tickets and an opportunity to “mix and mingle with Jorge Masvidal before the event begins.”
The event will run from 5:30-8 p.m. The location was not publicly advertised and only provided to those who have registered for the event.
Masvidal turned himself into police last week and is due back in court on April 21 after posting a $15,000 bond. Masvidal is accused of striking former friend and opponent Colby Covington at a steakhouse earlier in the month.
‘Gamebred’ Masvidal has been charged with aggravated battery with bodily harm and criminal mischief. Both are considered felonies. If convicted of the aggravated battery charge alone, a second-degree felony, Masvidal could face up to 15 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
Masvidal pleaded not guilty to the charges.
