Grant Dawson discusses his UFC Vegas 76 win over Damir Ismagulov
Grant Dawson has his confidence levels at an all time high after UFC Vegas 76 and rightfully so.
Over the weekend, Dawson was locked inside of the octagon against Damir Ismagulov in a battle between two rising contenders in the UFC’s lightweight division.
Dawson finally cracked the ranking system in his last fight and now, he’ll continue to climb the rankings.
At UFC Vegas 76, Dawson did a great job of changing levels, securing takedowns, locking in body triangles and attempting for submissions.
All three rounds of the fight, consisted of Dawson doing all of those things in dominating fashion as he absolutely smothered Ismagulov on way to a unanimous decision win.
For Dawson, he’s now 8-0-1 inside of the octagon and he credits all of his recent success to his coaches and teammates at American Top Team.
Since joining the gym, Dawson has seen his a massive improvement in his striking and that has helped him in his fights recently.
The biggest takeaway from his time at the great gym is that this fight marked the first time since Dawson joined the gym that he got a full training camp with them.
The full camp and the great performance is an eye opener for the division and now Dawson has his eyes set on some bigger names and higher ranks.
In his post fight octagon interview with UFC hall of famer Michael Bisping, Dawson called out Tony Ferguson or Beneil Dariush, but his main objective is to fight a bigger name or a higher ranked fighter.
Following his great UFC Vegas 76 performance, Dawson spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his victory over Ismagulov, his first full training camp at American Top Team and calling his wife the b word on national TV.
