Greg Hardy

Greg Hardy Among Those Removed from UFC Roster

The latest group of fighters removed from the UFC roster has been announced.

In the group:

Heavyweight: Greg Hardy

Women’s Flyweight: Sabina Mazo

Lightweight: Davi Ramos

Middleweight: Jared Gooden

Hardy, who went 4-5 with 1 NC in the UFC had hinted that he was going to be cut following his loss to Sergey Spivac at UFC 272: Covington vs. Masvidal. Following the fight, he made a post on Instagram which stated:

“What a run, ya boy is far from done just got some fine tuning to do. Thank you to all my fans and haters. I appreciate you all. Mostly i appreciate my coaches, family, and the @ufc for giving me the opportunity to shine bright.”

Before the post, however, Greg Hardy made clear that his MMA journey was not over. On another Instagram post, he stated:

This one is on me and there are no excuses for me lacking. I refuse to die but I have to reevaluate for sure.”

It is unclear where he may go from here, however his UFC run is over for the time being.

Along with him, is women’s 125 pounder Sabina Mazo. The 24-year-old joined the UFC in 2019 and held a record of 3-4 with the organization. She most recently lost to Miranda Maverick at UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Ankalaev

Davi Ramos and Jared Gooden are also no longer members of the active UFC roster.

Ramos has been with the UFC since 2017 and had a total of 7 fights with the organization. In all, “The Tasmanian Devil” went 4-3 inside the octagon.

28-year-old Gooden spent only one year with the UFC and went 1-3 during that time. Since fighting out his contract he has already picked up a victory in iKON FC and will fight Curtis Millender at XMMA 4: Black Magic in April.

All of these fighters may be able to find their way back to the UFC, but for now, they have officially been taken off of the roster.
