The UFC returns to the United States on Halloween night at UFC on ESPN+ 39, Saturday, Oct. 31.

Anderson Silva makes his final walk to the octagon in a middleweight headliner against Uriah Hall at the UFC in Las Vegas, Nevada. The co-main event is a featherweight clash between two exciting contenders in Bryce Mitchell and Andre Fili.

In a heavyweight clash, Maurice Greene returns to the cage after a 3rd round submission over Gian Villante back in June. Between his slick submissions and knockout power, Greene has his work cut out for him this evening with Greg Hardy.

Hardy, known for his overwhelming knockout power has no secrets coming into this fight. Always looking for a stoppage, 5 out of 6 wins have come via TKO/KO. His last bout was his sole unanimous decision win over Yorgan De Castro back in May.

Round 1: Greene leads with a leg kick to feel his opponent out. Hardy returns the favor with his own leg kick. Hardy is dictating the pace early. Greene attempts a kick to the body that Hardy catches, and tags him with a straight right hand, dropping him in his tracks. Hardy follows him to the mat, ground and pounding a hurt Greene on the floor. Greene does a great job neutralizing Hardy’s attacks and wrapping him up on the ground to recover. Hardy creates enough space to reset and drill Greene with a single flush elbow to the head. Hardy gets back up to his feet and resumes, center cage. Both fighters are exchanging their respective shots with minimal damage being done. Hardy begins to chop Greene’s legs towards the end of the first round. Both fighters swing for the fences one last time before the final time before sounds for round one.

Referee, Herb Dean gives Hardy a warning about keeping his fingers out of Greene’s eyes on the mat (noting his intention to smother his opponent). Both fighters mix up their striking between leg kicks and single punches upstairs early. Greg Hardy lands a lead uppercut dropping Greene to the canvas. Hardy follows Greene to the floor with brutal hammerfists. Greene desperately tries to scramble out of danger. However, Hardy’s relentlessness, non-stop punches is enough for the referee to call a halt to this contest.
