Greg Hardy vs. Maurice Greene in the works for Oct. 31 event
Greg Hardy and Maurice Greene are set to clash at Heavyweight, pending bout finalization.
The UFC negotiating a fight between two heavyweight titans that involve, Hardy (6-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Greene (9-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and they would come up against each other on Oct. 31, in a location and venue to be confirmed later.

Hardy will look to carry on his momentum after earning a unanimous decision win against Yorgan De Castro at UFC 249 in May. The former NFL player has had a rollercoaster ride since signing with the UFC in late 2018. Hardy has lost to Alexander Volkov, been disqualified against Allen Crowder, and had a win over Ben Sosoli reversed due to mid-fight inhaler use. He also holds stoppage wins over Juan Adams and Dmitry Smolyakov. Hardy’s last performance in May was a successful decision, where he became the first fighter to beat then undefeated Yorgan De Castro. Five of Hardy’s six career wins have come by knockout.
A contestant on the 28th season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Greene has been active inside the octagon, most recently competing in June when he ended his two-fight losing skid. After two competitive rounds against MMA veteran Gian Villante, Greene pulled off an unorthodox choke from his back and earned a third-round submission. In his six UFC appearances, Greene has only gone to the judges score cards once. One Greene was on the UFC roster he soon proved his worth, by submitting Michel Batista, taking a split verdict on the scorecards over Jeff Hughes in a rematch and knocking out Junior Albini. A couple stoppage losses to Sergei Pavlovich and Alexey Oleynik pegged him back to the drawing board, but since returned to winning ways with a submission win over Villante. The former LFA Heavyweight Champion improved his record inside the Octagon to 4 – 2.
