Hunter May discusses his upcoming fight at Maverick MMA 22
Hunter May is off to a great start in his young amateur career and now he’s ready to compete again this weekend at Maverick MMA 22.
May debuted last year with the Maverick promotion at Maverick MMA 18 and he made the best of his first time locked inside of a MMA cage as he picked up a knockout win.
He followed up his big debut win by adding a unanimous decision victory to his record at Maverick MMA 20 in which he had a few last-minute changes.
Prior to that fight, May’s original opponent pulled out of the fight and May was not only given a new opponent on short notice, but he also had a change in his weight class.
Nonetheless, it all worked itself out and now it’s time for another challenge.
This weekend is a big event for the Maverick promotion as Maverick MMA 22 will be held at the Wind Creek Casino in Bethlehem, Pa. which will mark the promotion’s first ever casino show.
For May, he’s honored to be a part of the massive card and he’s been working hard at Scranton MMA to showcase his skills on fight night.
Scranton MMA has been blossoming in northeastern Pennsylvania and May is a part of the growing team that is doing great things at the regional level.
In fact, as the successful results have been showing at the gym, more and more people have joining. That growth has led to Scranton MMA opening a second location in Wilkes-Barre.
Now the gym will look to add a few more victories to its tally this weekend as May and his teammate Jesse Burke are currently finishing up their weight cuts before they step foot inside of the Maverick heptagon on Saturday night.
Prior to May’s fight this weekend, he spoke with MyMMANews about the growth of MMA in the Scranton area, his career goals and he spoke in depth about his preparation for fight this weekend against Denis Hickey.
