Ian Garry Stays Perfect Against Gabe Green at UFC 276

The UFC will host another double-header Pay-Per-View this evening with the middleweight and featherweight straps being on the line. The event will take place at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas.

In the main event champion Israel Adesanya looks good make another defence of his belt when he faces powerhouse Jared Cannonier. Also, Alexander Volkanovski attempts to sweepstake Max Holloway in their anticipated third fight.

The card also includes Robbie Lawler vs. Bryan Barberena that is certain to produce a fight of the night contender. Sean O’Malley will face battled-veteran Pedro Munhoz. Names like; Donald Cerrone vs. Jim Miller, Ian Garry vs. Gabe Green, Brad Riddell, Brad Taveres and Uriah Hall all fight on the card.

Ian Garry vs. Gabe Green Play-by-Play

In this highlighted play-by-play we will look at Irish Prospect Ian Garry as he takes on Gabe Green on the prelims of a stacked pay-per-view.

The 24-year old will look to make another statement win in a huge showcase event. Garry last defeated Weeks at UFC 273 via unanimous decision. His adversary Gabe Green will hunt for his third straight win in the octagon with a win. Green last competed against Yohan Lainesse and won via second-round TKO at UFC Vegas 53 in April.

Here’s how the fight played out round by round:

ROUND 1:

They touch gloves, here we go. Green coming out early with a lot of pressure and calf kicks. A solid connection from Green, staying heavy with the pressure. Garry circling from the outside. Big shot to the body from Green and Garry returns fire with a big connection of his own. That produced some urgency out of Garry and now he’s being more active. A good end to the round from the Irishmen.

ROUND 2:

Garry opens up with a inside leg kick. The hand speed is a real difference in this one, Garry just looks so much faster. A eye poke temporarily stops the fight. For the first time we enter the click up against cage, let’s see what Green can do in this position. Wow, Garry uses a trip and ends in full mount. Gabe with a sense of urgency gets back to his feet and we are back in the centre.  A late left hand buckles the knees of Garry at the buzzer.

ROUND 3:

Early on Garry scores a knockdown! The very durable Green pops straight back up, Green has fantastic heart and durability. No signs of slowing down from either fighter, this is a fantastic pace. Garry picking his shots perfectly in this round, Green struggling to get close to land anything. Both guys open up late, but it was too late for Green. Garry should take this one.
