Ilia Topuria “is pound-for-pound the greatest fighter to ever walk this earth. Even over Jones.”
UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria is not only the top fighter at 155-pounds, but he currently sits atop the UFC’s official pound-for-pound rankings as well.
The 28-year-old “El Matador” defeated Charles Oliveira earlier this year to claim the vacant lightweight strap after vacating the featherweight belt he held for little more than a year.
Aside from the two titles and undefeated 17-0 record, Ilia Topuria now has another accolade to add to his collection.
Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley said on his podcast earlier this week that Topuria is the greatest of all time.
“Ilia is pound-for-pound the greatest fighter to ever walk this earth,” Suga Show said. “Even over (Jon) Jones. His last three fights: KOs Volkanovski, KOs Holloway, KOs Oliveira. He’s not beating these guys by decision. … He’s knocking them out.”
