Inaugural CES MMA flyweight champion to be crowned at CES 60
Classic Entertainment & Sports MMA officials announced Wednesday that the promotion’s inaugural flyweight title will be on the line at the promotion’s upcoming CES 60 show on January 24 at Twin River Casino Hotel in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
Fighting for the 125-pounds belt will be Johnny Lopez (12-4) and Blaine Shutt (7-4).
“Mr. Nice Guy” Lopez is entering the contest on a four-fight win streak, including his most recent victory over Dan Cormier. NO!!!! Not that Dan Cormier. All four of those bouts were won by way of unanimous decision.
Shutt is looking to bounce back from a hard fought loss in the main event of Cage Fury Fighting Championships 78 where he was outpointed by the promotion’s flyweight champ Sean Santella in September.
Also announced for the CES 60 card, John Gotti III (4-0) will face Marcos Lloreda (7-5). The two were originally scheduled to fight at CES 59 in October, but Gotti withdrew due to an eye infection.
The Jan. 24 event will air live on the UFC Fight Pass streaming service.
