“Iranian Hulk” vs. “Brazilian Hulk” MMA bout could happen

Every once in a while you run into one of those storylines that, if it plays out the way it’s design was intended, could make for one of the strangest, yet highly amusing and entertaining dumpster fires you will ever see.

It seems as if weightlifter Sajad Gharibi, also known as “Iranian Hulk” has been entertaining the possibility of an MMA fight with Romarios Dos Santos Alves, or “Brazilian Hulk.”  The challenge has been on the table for quite some time apparently but it was the Brazilian who has finally made momentum in making the talk a reality.

Gharibi stands 6’2″ tall and weights a whopping 178kg (392-pounds), and that is where the problem comes in.  In order for the fight to take place, Dos Santos Alves has issued a stipulation.

“I’m going to go up to 120kg and I’m going to give a message to you, the Iranian Hulk, who is challenging me,” Alves said, according to The Sun.

“I’m going to go up to 120 kilos and you’re going to go down to 120kg.

“I’m going to rip off your head.”

In the “Iranian Hulk’s most recent Instagram post he wrote: “Be brave and Invite me to fight.
rather than hiding behind your sponsors,
I am ready to fight you, show me what you’ve got to say in the ring.”

Another stated: “No more regrets
No turning back
Im moving on
Its not over
we’re going to FIGHT:

Romarios Dos Santos Alves is a former security guard, who previously risked his life by pumping a dangerous cocktail into his biceps while training. He turned to a cocktail of oil, painkillers and alcohol to pump up his biceps and it nearly cost him his arms.

“I remember the doctor told me that they would need to amputate both arms – they said everything in there, all my muscles, were rock,” the Brazilian said.

As of press time the contest is far from happening but is picking up speed.  Where or when it would take place is anyone’s guess but this has a very old school Pride FC feel to it.  I wonder if there are any promotions out there in Japan that like to put on these kind of circus acts  🙂
