Jim Miller, UFC Hall of Famer, UFC 300

Is Jim Miller a future UFC Hall of Famer?

Jim Miller is set to take on Bobby Green at UFC 300 which will make Miller the only fighter in UFC history to compete at UFC 100, UFC 200 and UFC 300.

Miller is a veteran of the company as he debuted back in to 2008 and now in year 16 with the UFC he’s still winning fights as he’s won five of his last six outings.

Despite all he’s done in his career, there’s still a debate as to whether or not he should be in the UFC Hall of Fame one day so with it being officially UFC 300 fight week, let’s take a look at the debate.

The full breakdown can also be seen in the video above.

Pros – Reasons why Jim Miller should be in the UFC Hall of Fame

Miller holds a two big records in the UFC as he is the company leader in total fights (43) and wins (26). He also has the most submission attempts in UFC history.

There are also a few stats that Miller is second in promotion history. Those are total finishes (18) and total submission wins (12).

Outside of the stats, Miller holds wins over former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and UFC hall of famer Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Cons – Reasons why Jim Miller should not be in the UFC Hall of Fame

Champions always see to have the easiest route to the Hall of Fame and Miller has not only never won a UFC title, but he’s never fought for one either.

Also surprisingly in his 16 year UFC career, he’s only fought in three UFC main events.

Perhaps one of the toughest things are the big name losses on his record as he’s suffered losses to Frankie Edgar, Benson Henderson, Nate Diaz, Dustin Poirier and Anthony Pettis.

Answer to the debate? – Yes, Jim Miller should make the Hall of Fame

Longevity is a real thing and while some people think it shouldn’t hold any weight, I feel it should.

It take a lot to be in the UFC for as long as Miller and to be late in your career and still winning fights is impressive.

When you think of the UFC, the greatest promotion in the sport of mixed martial arts, are you really not going to be the all time wins and fights leader into the hall of fame?

You absolutely are.
