Jaclyn Sklaver talks sports nutrition; working with Jorge Masvidal & Deontay Wilder

Jaclyn Sklaver has been making a huge impact in the sports world as a nutritionist.

When she was in college she interned with a company that specialized in helping the top football players in the country prepare for the NFL draft. From there she fell in love with working with athletes and has dedicated her career to it.

Over the past five years she has helped between 350-400 football players prepare for their NFL combine. Aside from the players trying to make the NFL, she has also worked 80 players already in the NFL, including Houston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor and a number of players on the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Outside of football, Sklaver also works with NBA players, pro tennis players and recently she has made the move to the fight made.

In the lead up to UFC 261, UFC star Jorge Masvidal hired Sklaver to help him as he prepared for his rematch with welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

Her work with fighters didn’t stop with Masvidal. Right now she has been helping former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder as he prepares for his trilogy fight with Tyson Fury. Their fight was originally scheduled for July 24, but the fight was postponed after Fury tested positive for COVID-19. The fight has now been rescheduled for Oct. 9.

Skalver talked to MyMMANews about her career in nutrition, the challenges of working with fighters and what it’s been like working with Masvidal and Wilder. You can watch her interview in the video above.
