Jairzinho Rozenstruik storms through Chris Daukaus in 23 seconds at UFC 282

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us tonight, December 10, 2022, for UFC 282, headlined by a vacant light-heavyweight championship affair between no. 3 ranked former champion Jan Blachowicz (29-9) and no. 4 ranked Magomed Ankalaev (18-1).

Co-headlining the event was a lightweight encounter between former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett (19-3) and former CFFC featherweight champion Jared Gordon (19-5).

Our preliminary co-main event of the evening came in the heavyweight division between former kickboxing champion Jairzinho Rozenstruik (12-4, 11 knockouts) and Chris Daukaus (12-5, 11 knockouts).

Rozenstruik went 76-8-1 as a professional kickboxer prior to beginning his mixed martial arts career, and after opening up his MMA tenure with a record of 10-0, he’d since gone 2-4 over his last six. Daukaus on the other hand won his first four bouts inside the octagon, all via knockout, before losing his last two-straight.

Official Result: Jairzinho Rozenstruik def. Chris Daukaus via TKO (punches) at :23 of round one

Daukaus lands a hard overhand right at the beginning of the fight, but Rozenstruik eats it and lands a vicious jab that stuns Daukaus badly. Daukaus never recovers from it, as Rozenstruik swarms him for the early finish, stopping the fight with a nasty left hook.

Both men came in on two-fight losing skids; one was to get back to their winning ways, and the other to suffer a third straight defeat. Jairzinho Rozenstruik came out like a bat out of hell tonight and it paid off for him as he picks up another knockout victory to improve his record to 13-4.

Six straight finishes to begin UFC 282, what an event!

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
