18-year-old Raul Rosas Jr remains undefeated, absolutely mauls Jay Perrin in debut at UFC 282
The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us tonight, December 10, 2022, for UFC 282, headlined by a vacant light-heavyweight championship affair between no. 3 ranked former champion Jan Blachowicz (29-9) and no. 4 ranked Magomed Ankalaev (18-1).
Co-headlining the event was a lightweight encounter between former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett (19-3) and former CFFC featherweight champion Jared Gordon (19-5).
Headlining the preliminary card tonight was a bantamweight bout showcasing the youngest fighter to ever compete inside the octagon, 18-year old Raul Rosas Jr (6-0), and his opponent, two-fight veteran Jay Perrin (10-6).
Rosas just turned 18 in October, following his Contender Series victory at just 17 years of age. Tonight was his debut in the big show, while Perrin had gone 0-2 inside the promotion since debuting earlier this year in February.

Perrin lands a couple nice check left hooks to begin the bout, though Rosas remains unfazed and shoots in on a takedown not long thereafter.
Though his first attempt is stuffed, he ends up getting a high crotch single leg along the fence, slamming Perrin down to the mat. Perrin is back to his feet quickly, but Rosas drags him back down easily and takes his back.
Perrin is trying to shake Rosas off his back, but is unable to, as Rosas secures the body triangle and hunts for the rear naked choke. Perrin is initially defending the choke well, but is eventually forced to tap.
Raul Rosas Jr is a truly special talent. The kid just turned 18 years old in October, and he just mauled and stopped a 29 year old man with 16 fights as opposed to his six. Wow what a performance, seven straight finishes to begin UFC 282! It’s been a good one.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That’s the first fight I saw, and the fight that got me hooked on the sport. Since then, the sport has grown so rapidly, and my goal is to enlighten everyone on what’s going on in the sport today.
