Rozenstruik vs Gane

Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs Ciryl Gane to headline UFC Fight Night Feb 27th

Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Ciryl Gane will top a UFC marquee at the end of February. Rozenstruik vs Gane headlines UFC Vegas 20 which goes at the UFC Apex and broadcasts on ESPN+.

This heavyweight clash has been shuffled around a bit after first being booked for March 13th. Now the initially mapped out February 27th headliner of Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prochazka fell apart.

Bigi Boy‘s personal social media shed light on the bout being moved to a five-round affair on a different date.

Multiple sources close to the situation spoke to MMA Junkie to confirm this bout reshuffling under the condition of anonymity.

When examining the heavyweight hierarchy, this bout is hugely important. Along with Lewis vs Blaydes, these contests are key for who secures a future title shot.

Rozenstruik vs Gane

For Gane, this represents the first UFC main event opportunity of his career. It’s apropos that the 7-0 French leviathan is at number seven in UFC’s rankings as of this writing.

The former TKO champion is coming off of the biggest name victory of his MMA career in December. Ciryl Gane finished Junior Dos Santos with an elbow in the second round of their UFC 256 bout.

Gane also has another significant win over Tanner Boser in a December 2019 outing that went the distance.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is in a similar standing too as he is also coming off of a JDS victory. Rozenstruik bested Dos Santos at UFC 252 to return to the win column. This came after an emphatic KO defeat to Francis Ngannou at UFC 249.

The Draka MMA and Rizin veteran has a one hundred percent finishing rate across his UFC wins so far.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is number three in the UFC heavyweight rankings and his MMA record is 11-1 overall. Rozenstruik also has significant victories over Alistair Overeem and Andrei Arlovski.
