Jake Davis Cage Wars 38 Welterweight Title Defense | CCMMA Podcast

On Saturday, September 15, Jake Davis will enter the cage at Cage Wars 38 to defend his welterweight title. The current promotional double-champ also holds the middleweight title. He’ll be taking on his toughest challenge thus far in his amateur career as he is preparing to battle Isaiah Sackey-El in a 170-pound title defense. Davis and Sacky-El are scheduled to headline the thirty-eighth installment of Cage Wars. The Albany, NY based promotion returns to the Rivers Resort and Casino in Schenectady, New York. Doors swing open at 5:30 PM as fights begin promptly at 7 PM.

Davis enters the cage with a perfect 5-0 record as an amateur and continues to prove the naysayers that he’s on another level. At 5-0, Davis has five finishes, three via submission and two by way of (T)KO. According to Tapology, Davis is ranked 5th in New York state as a middleweight and 8th in the Northeast. The double-champ will likely make his way to the professional circuit with a victory at Cage Wars 38. Watching Davis inside the cage strike and grapple with his opponents, the former high school wrestler makes it look so easy. I have talked often about fighters not taking tough fights but with Davis, it’s not the case. He’s just on another level of fighting. He’s physically and mentally tough and capable of fighting anywhere the geography of the fight takes him.

Tickets can be purchased at www.cagewarsny.com or by contacting any one of the fighters participating on the fight card. If you plan to go, get your tickets now, as the last two events have been sold out.
