Jake Shields signs multi-fight deal with WSOF

It was less than two weeks ago that we reported that Jake Shields had been cut from the UFC roster.  (See article here)

In the short period of time that Shields remained unemployed he received an opportunity to continue fighting as a welterweight, signing a multi-fight contract with the World Series of Fighting (WSOF).

WSOF President Ray Sefo tweeted “Welcome to the team Jake” just a few hours after the WSOF announced via Twitter “WSOF has signed Jake Shields @jakeshieldsajj one of the top welterweights in the World! We will announce Jake’s debut soon!”

WSOF has a stacked lineup of welterweights including former UFC standouts such as Rousimar Palhares, Jon Fitch and Josh Burkman.
