James Gallagher: Conor McGregor Deserves UFC Shares

James Gallagher opens up about Mystic Mac

A teammate of Conor McGregor wants the “Notorious” one to receive what he feels is deserved.

It’s no secret that McGregor has been vying for ownership stake in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). McGregor feels he helped build the promotion to the point where he should be rewarded shares. UFC president Dana White has insisted that McGregor will not receive ownership stake, but that hasn’t stopped the former two-division champion from pushing for it.

James Gallagher, McGregor’s teammate at SBG Ireland, told ESPN that if McGregor returns it shouldn’t be for anything less than what he “deserves” (via BJPenn.com):

“I hope he does because I feel like he shouldn’t come back unless he gets what he deserves. This is a game about you stand up for what you believe in. You have that loyalty. Being Irish it is bred into us, being young, you stand up for what you believe in. Take nothing less than what you deserve. You have that loyalty to death. I really hope he sticks to that and gets what he deserves. He deserves the share in the company where he is at. He doesn’t deserve anything less. If he doesn’t I hope he can maybe venture off. He’s got more money than anyone on the f*****g planet.”

McGregor is currently dealing with a hand injury. Head coach John Kavanagh confirmed to Ariel Helwani that McGregor suffered the injury during a sparring session and had to undergo surgery. He expects McGregor to heal quickly.

As for James Gallagher, he’s scheduled to compete this Saturday night (June 22) at Bellator 223. He’ll go one-on-one with Jeremiah Labiano.
