James Nakashima on May 27th fight, Leaving ONE Championship & Working With John Danaher

Interview with James Nakashima below

James Nakashima (12-3) discusses his welterweight fight against Lewis Gonzalez (12-4) at Uriah Faber’s A1 Combat 11 on May 27. James also spoke about moving to Austin, Texas to train with John Danaher, leaving ONE Championship and how losing his upcoming fight is better for him than winning by decision.

“It would almost be better to lose then win by decision. That decision moniker by my name has hurt me. I was undefeated for a long time, and I fought for the ONE title, undefeated. Now that’s all gone, and I have to finish. That’s one thing Danaher told me … amateurs all they got to do to win. Professionals have to win and put on a show. They say amateur wrestlers have a hard time with that, that resonates bigtime. I’m backed into a corner, and I got to let it go. I got to make it look sexy.”
