Jamie Mullarkey previews his UFC 272 matchup against Jalin Turner

Jamie Mullarkey and Jalin Turner both got off to similar starts in their UFC careers.

Mullarkey built up an impressive start to his professional career by starting off 12-2 in his home country of Australia before getting into the UFC. However, once he got into the sports biggest promotion, he dropped his first two fights.

Meanwhile, Turner got off to a 7-3 start on the regional scene in the United States and was selected for Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2018, where he secured a UFC contract by picking up a win over Max Mustaki. However, just like Mullarkey, Turner got off to a tough start as he lost his UFC debut and started out 1-2 with the company.

Both men have turned it around since their rocky starts. Mullarkey is coming off back-to-back knockout wins in 2021 and Turner is coming off three straight finishes as well. Now after similar starts to their careers, the UFC has booked the two to fight at UFC 272 this weekend.

Prior to the fight, Mullarkey told MyMMANews that this fight has all the making off being a highly entertaining fight as both of them have clawed their way to this point and Mullarkey believes the fight will come down to who wants it more and he plans on being that guy.

In Mullarkey’s interview with MyMMANews, he discussed the matchup with Turner in detail and he also spoke about the rise of MMA in Australia and his connection to Ireland as both his parents were born there before moving to Australia.
