Janay Harding talks upcoming fight and training in America

Janay Harding has had a lot going on in her life prior to her fight on April 23 at Bellator 279.

After suffering a defeat in her last outing against Leah McCourt at Bellator 259, Harding decided to change her training up a little bit and spent some time training in San Diego.

The Australian had a great three months in the United States before heading home for Christmas, but she also had some problems.

When she first arrived in the United States, Harding got coronavirus and had some bad lasting side effects. Eventually she was alright and began training with top level fighters like Ilima-Lei Macfarlane, Angela Hill and Jessica Penne. However, while training with them she suffered a detached retina and had to get surgery in Australia right before Christmas.

Now removed from surgery, Harding wears glasses regularly and has a few more eye doctor appointments than she did in the past, but all is good in the world for her now.

Harding is currently back in San Diego getting some work in before her upcoming fight and prior to her featherweight bout against Dayana Silva, she spoke with MyMMANews about her scheduled fight, her changeup in training, her eye surgery and her plans for 2022.

You can watch her full interview in the video above.
