Jeremy Kennedy Bellator 253 Pre-Fight Conference

The Bellator featherweight grand prix continues on Thursday with Bellator 253, which takes place a Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

The semifinal round of the 16-man tournament goes down in the main event as Darrion Caldwell (15-3 MMA, 12-2 BMMA) vs. A.J. McKee (16-0 MMA, 16-0 BMMA) in the main event this matchup will determine who enters the finals for the shot at $1 million and the Bellator featherweight championship.

Jeremy Kennedy met MyMMANews and the media in attendance to answer questions about his upcoming fight, watch above.

Kennedy (15-2-0-1NC) hasn’t fought since October 2019, when he was eliminated from the PFL’s featherweight tournament semifinals in a submission loss to Daniel Pineda. The loss eventually was overturned to a no-contest after Pineda was flagged for having an elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio in his system. Kennedy is making his Bellator debut in this bout and the fighter did win three of four whilst competing in the UFC promotion.

The Revolution Fight Team/Xtreme Couture product staple fought his early career on the regional scene, going 7-0. That earned him a UFC call where he went 3-1, with his sole loss in the promotion coming in the hands of now champ Alexander Volkanovski
