Jessica Eye seeks comeback, Lauren Murphy has strong response

UFC women’s bantamweight fighter Jessica Eye (11-6-1) has not competed inside the octagon since September 2016 when she dropped a split decision to Bethe Correia.

It was Eye’s fourth straight loss with the UFC, thus prompting her to announce that she was going to take some time off.

Yesterday Eye went on social media to announce an April return.

Eye did not state who her opponent would be, and the UFC has yet to officially announce a fight contract has been signed, but that did not stop fellow bantamweight Lauren Murphy (9-3) from speaking her mind.

Murphy obviously not happy with the UFC rankings chose to attack Eye via social media.  Just as with any good social media battle, Eye blasted back at Murphy.

A likely candidate for an Eye comeback would be Katlyn Chookagian. If Eye’s tweet is accurate and she will be on the New York card, Chookagian is from the next state over in New Jersey and is coming off a win over Murphy herself.

While the fight would likely be booked at the bantamweight limit, both Eye and Murphy have previously expressed interest in dropping down to flyweight.

UPDATE:  Both competitors are now fighting at 125-pounds and if the fight is signed it would be at flyweight.
