Joanna Jedrzejczyk, UFC 248, Weili Zhang

UFC president Dana White believes Weili Zhang has been training a lot harder than Joanna Jedrzejczyk ahead of their upcoming fight.

In the co-main event of UFC 248, Zhang is looking for her first title defense when she battles the former champion in Jedrzejczyk. It is an interesting fight that many fans are torn on who will win. But, according to the UFC boss, he says Zhang has been doing a lot more training.

“These two, right now, if you look at Joanna, she’s out at the beach and living the lifestyle,” Dana White said to the media (via BJPENN.com). “When you watch Weili Zhang’s posts on Instagram — hardcore training, non-stop training, all she thinks about is fighting — it’s fascinating. I love this fight.”

Dana White then continued to praise the strawweight champion for her striking ability. He says she’s a better striker and more powerful than a lot more men.

“Have you watched some of her videos training? They had a video of her punching the other day,” he added. “And I’m telling you right now, she throws punches better than 99 percent of the men that I’ve ever known in my entire career.”

Weili Zhang is riding a 20-fight winning streak and a perfect 4-0 inside the Octagon. Last time out, she won the strawweight title in emphatic fashion when she knocked out Jessica Andrade in 42 seconds. She also did it in her home country of China and was the first UFC champion from China.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk, meanwhile, returned to the win column last time out with a decision win over Michelle Waterson. Before that, she lost to Valentina Shevchenko by decision for the vacant flyweight strap. The Pole held the belt from March 2015 until November 2017 when she was shockingly knocked out by Rose Namajunas.

This is no doubt a fascination fight and one that is hard to call.
