Joaquin Buckley returns in June against debuting fighter Abusupiyan Magomedov
Joaquin Buckley will be back in the Octagon in June.
On Sunday it was revealed by MMAJunkie that Buckley has been booked to return at a Fight Night on June 4 opposite UFC newcomer, Abusupiyan Magomedov. The event does not have a main event or location although the UFC Apex is likely to serve as the venue.
Joaquin Buckle (14-4) picked up a hard-fought split decision win over Abdul Razak Alhassan back in February to extend his win streak to two after knocking out Antonio Arroyo. Prior to that, he suffered a first-round upset KO loss to Alessio Di Chirico which snapped his two-fight win streak after knocking out Jordan Wright and getting the highlight-reel KO over Impa Kasanganay on Fight Island.
Buckley made his UFC debut on short notice against Kevin Holland in August 2020 where he suffered a second-round KO loss. Prior to signing with the promotion, he competed in LFA and Bellator and picked up notable wins over Justin Patterson and Vinicius de Jesus.
Abusupiyan Magomedov (24-4-1) has yet to make his UFC debut but was booked against Gerald Meerschaert on December 18, 2021, and was forced out of the bout. He was then expected to fight at UFC Columbus against Aliaskhab Khiriziev but once again he was forced out of the fight.
The German last fought in December of 2020 where he submitted Cezary Kesik to extend his win streak to two. He competed in the PFL’s 2018 season and made it to the middleweight finals but suffered a 33-second KO loss to Louis Taylor.
