John Lineker responds to Fabricio Andrade: “I’ll educate him, for sure”

A couple of weeks ago, rising ONE Championship bantamweight contender, Fabricio Andrade, had quite a lot to say about champion John Lineker.

In an interview with Andrade, he stated “come on John Lineker, how do you get dropped by a 43-year-old man. Come on, man. That’s not acceptable.”

He has “no skills,” Andrade added.

“I’m a smarter fighter. He’s smaller, he’s a short guy. He’s probably stronger but he cannot touch me, you know. He won’t be able to touch me,” he continued.

Interview below:

Lineker (35-9-0), who recently spoke with ONE Championship, responded to what Andrade had to say. Telling ONE that “it just goes to show that he’s a disrespectful guy to his opponents. He doesn’t have an ounce of education.”

“I like to respond inside the cage, in my own way, kicking ass. But if [ONE] thinks he is worthy to fight for the belt, I’ll educate him, for sure,” Lineker stated.

Since joining the promotion in 2019, “Hands of Stone” has won his first 4 bouts with ONE and won the bantamweight title with a second-round knockout over Bibiano Fernandes.

Sitting at the #2 slot in the bantamweight division is 24-year-old Andrade (8-2-0). Also undefeated under the ONE banner, Andrade has defeated the likes of Shoko Sato, Kai Wen Li, and Jeremy Pacatiw. His last walk to the cage came at ONE Championship 158 where he defeated Kwon Won II with a vicious liver kick in the first round.

Neither man has a fight lined up at the moment, but Lineker vs. Andrade is definitely on the ONE matchmaker’s radar.

What do you make of the potential matchup?
