This Saturday, March 26, Delaware’s’ Gut Check Championship Series returns to Hockessin, DE to present an unforgettable night of kickboxing and Muay Thai.

Sanctioned by the World Kickboxing Association, Gut Check has a long-lasting legacy for its fair matchmaking with explosive fights to match the crowds’ energy.

In an outstanding matchup, John Wunder of Algeo MMA will take on Luke Marshall of Jai Singh Muay Thai for the 135lb Gut Check Championship Series title.

Confident in the matchup, Wunder says without a doubt, “I’m getting the pieces of hardware,” he assures. Discussing his impending bout, headlining this Saturday’s fight night is an awesome opportunity for Wunder is excited for the step up on a card.  “My last two fights were co-main events so it’s fun to get the main event, Wunder explains.  “Five rounds, no gear, it’s going to be a good time,” he elaborates.

Talking about the matchup, Wunder isn’t shy to share his thoughts about Marshall as an opponent. “I think I’m a big, big step up for him, Wunder says. He doesn’t have a ton of experience and he’s never dealt with anyone like me.”

“Tall, skinny guys that like to teep and knee are a dime a dozen. Wunder says, sizing his opponent up. “I deal with them every week and I have for a long time so it’s nothing new to me, he continues. “But I’m bringing some surprises to him.”

“I’ll do what I’m going to do, and I’ll get him to react to what I’m doing,” Wunder says. “I’m not worried about what he’s bringing,” Wunder bluntly expresses. “He’s going to try and use tall guy weapons. It’s not going to change a whole lot and it’s not going to change what I’m doing,” Wunder breaks down the task at hand.

Dissecting how he feels the bout will play out, Wunder depicts how he feels Marshall will fair. “The pace that I’m bringing is what’s going to be the difference and there’s nothing he’s going to be able to stop it. I’m promising that. He’s not stopping me from moving forward for five rounds. If it goes that far.”

When asked for a bold prediction, Wunder is also convinced of several factors. “I think I’m putting him away in two,” he says. “I’m going to break him. Wunder elaborates. “I’m good to go. I’ve been training to go hard for five rounds, and I’ve seen him gas in two, so I’m bringing it!”
