Johnny Walker vs. Jamahal Hill verbally agree to UFC fight in 2022

A light heavyweight bout between top-15 ranked fighters Johnny Walker and Jamahal Hill has been verbally agreed to for a UFC fight in 2022.

MMA.ideas was the first to report that Walker vs. Hill will take place sometime next year. Walker is the No. 10 ranked light heavyweight in the UFC while Hill is ranked at No. 12, so this fight makes a lot of sense based on the rankings and where both men are at this point in their UFC careers. There has been no date, location, or venue named for this fight yet. It’s possible that it could be booked as a five-round main event for a UFC Fight Night card, otherwise, it makes sense as a main card bout on any card.

Walker (18-6) was once considered one of the top light heavyweight prospects in the UFC after knocking out Khalil Rountree Jr., Justin Ledet, and Misha Cirkunov in his first three Octagon bouts. Since then, Walker has lost three of his last four fights as he has struggled to remain one of the top contenders in the division. Walker has lost three of his last four fights to Thiago Santos, Nikita Krylov, and Corey Anderson, with his lone win over his last four fights being an elbow TKO win over Ryan Spann.

Hill (9-1, 1 NC) is 3-1, 1 NC since joining the UFC. He has defeated Darko Stosic, Ovince Saint Preux, and Jimmy Crute inside the Octagon, with a loss to Paul Craig and a No Contest against Klidson Abreu. Hill is considered one of the top strikers in the light heavyweight division and, aside from the loss to Craig, he has been on a serious roll as of late. With a win over Walker, Hill would enter the top-10 at 205lbs.

Who do you think wins this UFC light heavyweight bout between Johnny Walker and Jamahal Hill?
