Jon Jones and Anthony Smith engage in Twitter war
Ever since Jon Jones got arrested on March 26, the UFC light heavyweight champion appears to have embraced the heel role. Most recently, Jones had comments for Anthony Smith regarding Smith’s recent home invasion and now the two have been going back and forth with each other on twitter.
Recently an intruder entered Smith’s house through an open garage door. Once entering the house, Smith tackled him to the ground and started delivering punches, kicks, knees and elbows to the intruder. Smith held the man down for over six minutes until police showed up and arrested the man.
Following Smith’s heroic efforts to keep his family safe, Jones commented saying he was happy the Smith’s family was OK, but then said “no way dude would have left my house walking.”
Smith wasn’t happy with the comment from Jones and wasn’t short with words to explain his feelings.
“What a perfect moment to flex, Jon, in the middle of a disaster like that in my home,” Smith said. “What a perfect opportunity to flex at how g*ddamn cool you are. Just when you thought ‘that’s pretty admirable of Jon Jones to reach out and well-wish me,’ and then as you continue reading you’re like ‘oh that’s right, I forgot you’re still a f*cking douchebag.’ It’s just his opportunity to insert himself and make sure everybody knows how cool and bad ass he is. …
“Just for a second I thought you were human and you had a soul and then I realized yo, you’re still the same piece of sh*t you’ve always been. … You’re such a douchebag.”
Following Smith’s length response, Jones stirred up some words of his own.
“Anthony, if you’re going to leave your garage door open all night, hurry up and buy the family a gun, some mace or something,” Jones wrote.
“A douchebag more like me could’ve completely had his way with you all night, that could’ve been bad for everyone.”
Jones would delete his tweets and told everyone to get their screen shots in before he deleted it.
Jones and Smith previously fought in March 2019. In their fight, Jones dominated Smith on way to an easy unanimous decision victory.
