Jones was in great spirits at the HOF induction. He was very vocal about his future in the UFC. He spoke about his upcoming move to heavyweight and how the relationship between himself and the UFC was going well. He gave an update to fans and the media about his health and how his weight journey had been going. Jones was photographed at the event with his family. It is not known the specifics of what happened following the ceremony or what led to this incident and the arrest.
Jones is no stranger to legal trouble. He has been suspended from the UFC for violating the drug program and has been arrested several times before. He was involved in a hit and run back in 2015 where he fled the scene of an accident after hitting the car of a pregnant woman. Jones was charged with battery in 2019 when he was involved in a fight with a waitress at a club. He was also arrested in 2020 for a DUI in New Mexico.
Jon Jones was on the brink of getting his first heavyweight title shot against the winner of the upcoming title fight between champion Francis Ngannou and interim titleholder Ciryl Gane. It is unclear how this incident will affect his potential return, if at all. Jones team, nor the UFC have yet to release comments.
