Following Jon Jones’ dominating performance over Glover Teixeira at UFC 172, UFC president Dana White announced at the post-fight press conference that Alexander Gustafsson and Jones would square off in a highly anticipated rematch.
“Gustafsson gets the next fight against Jones”, White said.
In their first fight, many felt that Gustafsson (16-2) won the five-round war against lightheavyweight champ Jones (20-1).
When asked about having this blockbuster fight in Sweden, White replied, “We’ve got to take the fight wherever the fight is going to do the best.”
A fight this big would most likely be held in Las Vegas. White did not announce any potential date for this fight yet. A labor day weekend affair or possible end of the year event would make sense for when this fight could occur.Follow MyMMANews.com on Social Media
