Jordi Requejo defends WKN super welterweight title against Christian Berthely
Three World Kickboxing Network titles will be up for grabs at Boxing Fighters System II on March 14 in Nimes, France.
In the main event Jordi Requejo of Spain will be making the first defends of his WKN World super welterweight title against the representative of the country-host Christian Berthely, who holds WKN Intercontinental belt in the same division.
Jordi Requejo earned WKN Gold by TKO in the first round against Stefan Meszaros of Slovakia last May in Agde. The Spanish champion will be making his second appearance in the headliner of “BFS”, following his bout against Mickael Pignolo in March 2019.
Christian Berthely was last seen in action last March in Villejuif, where he scored a unanimous decision against Altynbek Zhunusov of Kazakhstan to retain his WKN Intercontinental super welterweight belt. The French competitor claimed the belt by knockout in the first round against Nordine Saidane of Belgium in November 2016 at Simply the Best 12 Farciennes.
In the co-main event a newly-crowned WKN European super middleweight champion Samuel Dbili will be making the first defense of his title against a challenger, who will be announced shortly. The French fighter took the belt by split decision against Branko Babachev of Bulgaria last month in Perpignan.
In addition, BFS 2 Nimes will see WKN World Grand Prix contested in the format of 75 kg four-man knockout tournament. The roster includes Jeremy Antonio of France, Soufiane Ait Ouccime of Belgium, Janis Ziedins of Latvia and Omar Moreno of the United States.
