Jorge Masvidal explains why he wants to fight Conor McGregor over Kamaru Usman
Jorge Masvidal has made it known he wants the biggest paydays and arguably the biggest in the sport would be against Conor McGregor. And, to no surprise, that is the bout “Gamebred” is eyeing.
Why he wants McGregor over a title fight is simple. He doesn’t know how much longer McGregor has in the fight game while someone will always be the champion.
“The Conor fight,” Masvidal said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show (via MMA Fighting). “We’ll go get the money because the Conor fight is not going to be there. The ‘Who?’ is always going to be there. The owl, whatever they’re calling him these days. That fight is always going to be there. Somebody is always going to have that belt. So it’s not a big deal as far as those two go.”
Conor McGregor has been hinting at fighting Jorge Masvidal, which “Gamebred” doesn’t know if the Irishman really wants to fight him. But, if he does, Masvidal knows it would be a massive fight.
“I would want that fight because it’s a big money fight,” Masvidal said of facing McGregor. “It’s a dude that’s two-time division champion, he has some impressive records, and he comes to fight. So in that aspect, yes. We’re gonna f*ckin’ both sell out wherever we’re f*cking fighting at, and there’s gonna violence. But if the dude doesn’t want to fight, I’m not a bully. Go do your thing. If he doesn’t want this, I don’t give a f*ck them. You don’t want to fight, you don’t want to fight, but don’t flirt with me. You either want it, or you don’t. Leave me the f*ck alone if you don’t.”
In the end, Jorge Masvidal has a ton of options for his next fight but has made it known he wants the biggest payday and that appears to be the Conor McGregor fight.
