Jose Aldo out of retirement, set to face Jonathan Martinez at UFC 301 in Brazil

UFC Hall of Famer and former longtime UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will come out of retirement and is set to fight at UFC 301 in his native country of Brazil on May 4.

Aldo’s return was first reported by Brazilian outlet Ag.Fight.

“Junior” Aldo, 37, retired from MMA competition after a UFC 278 unanimous decision loss to Merab Dvalishvili in August 2022.

The former featherweight kingpin then transitioned to boxing where he recorded to wins by unanimous decision and also had a draw against fellow former UFC fighter Jeremy Stephens.

Martinez is currently riding a six-fight win-streak inside the UFC octagon.
