Jose Aldo vs Conor McGregor set for UFC 189, July 11 – International Fight Week
The Notorious One, Conor McGregor had the honors of not only engaging with fans at today’s UFC 183 Q&As, but also he was the one to announce that on July 11 he will challenge UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo for UFC gold. The UFC 189 headlining bout will round out International Fight Week in Las Vegas, one of the biggest attractions and fan experiences that UFC has going.
“We have the fight date for McGregor-Aldo, the biggest fight of the year,” McGregor said. “Saturday, July 11th, International Fight Week, I’m gonna rip that Brazilian’s head off.”
McGregor earned the shot just two weeks ago after taking out Dennis Siver in Boston after just a round and a half.
“I am calm, composed and I am ruthless,” McGregor said. “This is just another man in my way.”
Kicking off on July 7 and running through July 12, International Fight Week 2015 will include the latest edition of the UFC Fan Expo, as well as the Ulti-Man 5K, UFC Gym Fitness Challenge, pool parties, free concerts, tournaments and more.
