UFC 183 weigh-in results
UFC 183 is the last of four major UFC events this January, part of the promotion’s “Time is Now” campaign. The main event is a super fight between former UFC middleweight champion and pound-for-pound best fighter on the planet, Anderson “the Spider” Silva and Nick Diaz.
Silva has not fought since his horrific leg break injury in his title rematch against champion Chris Weidman in December 2013. This is Diaz’ first fight back at middleweight in several years. He has not fought since a decision loss to Georges St. Pierre in the spring of 2013.
In the co-main event Kelvin Gastelum and Tyron Woodley will fight in a welterweight contest. Gastelum could potentially earn a title shot with a win, however that opportunity might now be in jeopardy as the welterweight weighed in as a near middleweight. Gastelum was supposed to hit the scale at 170 but instead reached the 180 mark.
Flyweight Jon Lineker’s weight issues continue as he missed the mark once again, this time by five pounds.
Also in the main event on the UFC on Fox Sports 1 prelims, it’s Miesha ‘Cupcake’ Tate vs. the U.S. Olympian Sara McMann.
